Welcome to the 2021 Adventure Safety Festival, sponsored by Mammut!

This is The Lady Alliance Foundation x Mammut’s 4th installation of the Adventure Safety Festival. Last winter this free festival focused on beacon training, snow science and preparation and packing. You can watch that festival here.

This festival features Elyse Saugstad and Cody Townsend sharing an adventure and doing a Q+A with us, as well as Tarah O’Connor following up with the Anatomy Of An Avalanche for us to learn about the science behind an avalanche.

With a focus on winter safety, this is a pre-recorded 2hr online experience that aired in December 2021.

Women+ and allies from all over the United States and Canada tuned in to enjoy a plethora of skill-building, risk-assessing conversations. Viewers learned about risk assessment and safety from guides, professional skiers, and other leaders in the industry. Viewers also learned about the anatomy of an avalanche, and triggers to be aware of.

This event’s guest host was our friends at Indigenous Women Outdoor Canada.
